Hello - once again! I am thinking about going to Amsterdam this year. I will be travelling alone (starting to see the value of a solo trip....). Which area would you suggest to stay in? I plan to do a lot of museum visiting, perhaps a concert and absolutely lots of walking and exploring! Any suggestions? Thanks!

Amsterdam is a great city and there are no real bad areas, but you would want to stay away from the RLD it can be loud at night. We stay over by the Jordan near the Westerkerk. Just be prepared for steps.
What time of year are you thinking of going.

Excellent hotel, great price, perfect location. But therefore it books up months in advance. I stayed there once, but it was booked up the next time I tried to stay there.
Ther are number of hotels near Rijksmuseum.
I like that area of Amsterdam - close to the park, museums and just a few minutes to many restaurants and bars.
I am thinking about June.
Check out the Hotel Aadlers near the Rijksmuseum.
