Final Paris itinerary, any advice welcome
This is my final itinerary, we are leaving Monday night! I'm mostly looking for information regarding too much/too little planned for each day. Or if the places are too far apart to manage. Also, any metro help also appreciated. We may not be walking too much as it is forecasted to rain all next week, boo hoo!
Also, any dining recommendations in the vacinities of our plans would be greatly appreciated. Nothing too fancy, and French alternatives would also be appreciated.

5/23 T - check-in hotel, lunch, Luxembourg Gardens, Musee Rodin, maybe Hotel des Invalides
5/24 W - Louvre 8:30am, Champs Elysees, Arc de Triomphe, maybe cruise Seine
5/25 H - Notre Dame, Conciergerie, Ste Chapelle, maybe Eiffel Tower at night
5/26 F - Musee D'Orsay 9:00am, Place de la Concorde and L'Orangerie
5/27 Sat - Tour of Normandy and D-Day beaches 6:15am pick-up at hotel, this is a 12 hour minivan tour that only takes five passengers
5/28 Sun - Montmartre, Sacre Couer, Musee des Arts Decoratifs, Musee des Arts et Metiers OR may take trip out to Giverny
5/29 Mon - Travel on to Amboise, Da Vinci museum, tour the town
5/30 T - We are renting a car for the day to tour chateux
5/31 W - travel back to Paris, anything we want to go back to, or didn't get to, maybe late hours at Louvre
6/1 H - Flight home 1:30pm

Hi E,
The Louvre is open until 21:45 on Wed. You can save 2.5E pp if you go after 16:00.
Also, it is easier to walk downhill from the Arc to the Louvre.
On our first day, we don't do anything that requires thinking or observing. May I suggest a visit to the Gardens and a walk aroound the neighborhood?
Where will you be staying?

We are staying at Hotel du Pantheon, across from the Pantheon.
I had the Louvre early to avoid crowds. Is that not necessary? We will have a 4 day museum pass.

May I suggest for your 1st day,
Walk from the Pantheon through the Luxembourg gardens to Rue Bonaparte and on to St. Sulpice (about 8 blks). There are bars and cafes on Pl St Sulpice, rue Mabillon and rue Guisarde.
Take rue Mabillon to rue du Four, go right to Boul St. Germaine. The Eglise is to your left, as are Cafe Flor and the Deux Magots.
Across the street is rue de Buci. The market stalls might still be open.
Follow de Buci to rue St Andre des Arts to rue D'Anton. Go left to the Seine.
Go right along the Seine to rue des Bernardins and go left to rue des Ecoles. Go right to rue des Cames and then left to the Pantheon.
It is now time to have an aperitif before dinner.
Getting to the Louvre early is a good idea.
Have a nice visit.

Notre Dame, the Conciergerie, and Ste. Chapelle will not take up a whole day. That doesn't necessarily mean you have to plan more; it will leave you half a day for strolling, shopping, cafe-sitting, whatever.

Hi,
I think your first day is a little hectic. How about just a walk up the Champs Elysees, stop in a cafe for a coffee, go to the top of the Arc de Triomphe & try to pick out the rest of the places you want to visit? In the evening, stop at a brasserie for a drink before heading off for dinner at a small restaurant in the Marais district.
The Rodin Museum a very nice small museum in the sculptor's last home. It is quite close to Les Invalides - definitely do both the same day.
We also like the Picasso Museum (Hotel Sale, 5 rue de Thorigny) very much.
The Luxembourg Gardens are a great place to visit on a Sunday, but since you are so close, you will likely get there before then.
It's a good idea to plan the Musee d'Orsay & the Louvre early in the morning. Both involve extensive walking. Do them while you're fresh.
The Museum pass is a great idea. I would suggest you also consider a 5-day Metro pass (Paris Visite card). The Metro is very extensive. Some stations, eg Chatelet, involve a lot of walking - but it is a great way to get around the city - especially if the weather is not very good.
My restaurant recommnedations do not take into consideration your daily itineraries.
We like Chez Nenesse at 17 rue de saintonge just south of the Place de la Republique in the Marais district; Trattoria Roma at 44, Boulevard St.-Germain for excellent Italian food; and a seafood restaurant on the same side of St. Germain as Trattoria Roma but with a lower number - sorry I've forgotten the name. We would not recommned the popular Chez Janou in the Marais district - didn't enjoy out time there.
Two final pieces of advice. Check the opening & closing times of any place you want to visit and make restaurant reservations before you arrive.

Have a wonderful trip!! May I suggest that if your trip is a success and if you let Paris woo you, you will have tossed your itinerary half way though the week..I think this is the essence of Paris...think about this and enjoy.

My thoughts are that the L'Orangerie
may be packed. I am hoping to go this summer and have it scheduled as an arrive FIRST thing in the morning. After this lonog of a closure I think there will be a huge pent up demand...
