Fifty plus people-stomach illness at a beach resort in Turkey

It's in the news today that over 50 Swedish tourists ended up being taken by ambulance to hospital due to stomach illness. The were on a charter vacation at the Petunya Beach resort in Bodrum, Turkey. Most of the people that became ill had been in the pool prior to experiencing vomiting and diarrhea. I also read in the Swedish news that a prior guest said the conditions were not very nice at the resort and she saw feces bubbling in a drain near the pool. One would think one would report such an incident....Blech!
I personally try to avoid charter's and any buffet type meals to avoid illness. Sounds like a cruise nightmare but on land this time!
