Ferries from Samos to any of the Cyclades Islands, Greece?

Have been researching a way of getting from Samos to preferably Paros or other close island in the Cyclades group but cannot see any easy way. Some airfares seem to be an even better option but for this route you have to go back to Athens and then on to the destination. Has anyone tackled this recently? Any suggested websites for information?
Thank you. This would be in September this year.

Using the ferry system you can go from Samos to Mykonos and then on to Paros from there.

If the ferry doesn't stop at Mykonos it will probably stop at Syros (I believe the stop at Mykonos is summer only). More likely than not you will have stay overnight on either of those islands and catch a ferry to Paros the next day.

If you are in a hurry it would be best to fly back to Athens and connect with a flight to Paros from there.

These are the current timetables: http://tinyurl.com/lm4ar95. The company codes are MC for NL and MF for Hellenic Seaways.

That should be MC for NEL.

Looks like they stop on the 15th September or that's all that came up for me on the website.

I believe the Samos-Piraeus ferry stops at Syros all year round (not necessarily daily), while the Mykonos stop is summer only. If you are travelling after mid-September you will have to check the timetables at a later date, as they aren't published very far in advance.

The ferry from Syros to Paros isn't daily, either, maybe three times per week.

Thanks Heimdall. Think I will wing it after Samos just to fit in with the ferry system LOL. Fly Samos to Athens and then to Mykonos seems to be the best option right now. I'll take a closer look at the Samos-Piraeus ferry also.

The Samos - Piraeus ferry is the one we are talking about. There are no ferries from Samos to Mykonos or Syros. They merely stop on those islands en route from and to Piraeus.

Still, unless you have lots of time on your hands, a flight back to Athens is your best bet. Also be aware that Mykonos is very quiet off-season, and September is a transition month.

Hi Heimdall

I was on Mykonos one October and it was great, very warm, people were still swimming, the rowdies had all gone home and it was still lively enough with shops and cafes open. Also Oichi Day on the 26th October was a lot of fun.

The Ochi day is actually on the 28th of October.
The 26th is Agios Dimitrios's Nameday ( Saint Demetrius ).

September on Mykonos is the best time for me, the island is still alive without the masses of August and the weather is wonderful. The weather in October can be everything from warm to colder, usually after mid October.

Hi Clausar
Whatever day it is I was there for Ochi Day, have been to many places since then.
A Greek friend always says September is the month for her to holiday in Greece, I also like May and June.

I now have the info I need for the ferries so just need to get there now.

Cheers
