Is the Holiday Inn in Dublin the one on Pearse Street? It's not really in a great location.

I was very disappointed with my stay at Ocean Crest a few years back. Although it is in a great location it has many drawbacks......... no owner is on premises...kitchen is, strangely enough, located on the second floor along with the bedrooms. Gals arrive in the early a.m. to prepare the breakfast and the rattling of dishes and pots awakens all the guests in adjoining rooms. Only two of the rooms have any kind of a view..all others look out onto a back alley. the bathroom doors are not full height and end about five feet up providing no privacy.
This all sounds very odd I know but Ocean Crest is very odd in many ways. Galway has many wonderful B&Bs. Search these boards for some great recommendations!

I THINK YOU MIGHT WANT TO CHECK OUT THE CAPSLOCK HOTEL. IT SEEMS TO SUIT YOUR NEEDS.

ANOTHER ALTERNATIVE WOULD BE THE SHOUTALOUT INN.

Thank you all for your help!

But one thing...lenox236 what do you mean by your message? I'm new at this, did I do something wrong?

SO_PHILLY,

Using all capital letters is not polite on the forum. It is considered the online equivalent of shouting. That is what lenox236 was complaining about. I tend to disregard things like that because (as you just mentioned) you are new here. Not everyone knows the rules right off the bat.

Laragh House is very nice. I prefer Bunratty Lodge in Bunratty.

The Holiday Inn off Pierce St. in Dublin is where we stayed when we arrived on our past trips. We love going across the street to Widow Scalions Pub. Never had any problems or trouble at that location as far as crime day or night.

Equally important (since you are a newcomer), is to mention the destination(s)... in the message header of your posting.

Best wishes,
