In Granada I really enjoyed the Restaurante Puerta del Carmen, though it's a bit expensive.

And I've heard great things about Tragabuches in Ronda, though have never eaten there myself.

In Cordoba Bodegas: Campos, El Coto, El Churrasco have all been recommended to me, but I haven't been to them yet. I have tried Casa Pepe de la Juderia and it was very good.

In Málaga I can recommend the many waterfront seafood restaurants in Pedregalejo just east of the city center. Delicious food, affordable and popular with locals. You should also have a look at tapas bars in the center of town such as excellent La Campana, traditional El Cortijo de Pepe at Plaza la Merced 2 and innovative El Tapeo de Cervantes.

In Córdoba there are several fine bodegas/tavernas in the area around Plaza las Tendillas and Plaza de las Correderas just north of the touristy old town. Here you'll find great local places on every corner. Just had some excellent meals in a couple of them a few weeks ago. Taberna Salinas comes recommended in the Michelin guide and we were perfectly happy after two raciones, a bottle of wine and a couple of brandys for some 35€.

Azahar has got excellent suggestions for Sevilla. I would especially point to her recommedations of Eslava and Enrique Becerra. Bodega Diaz Salazar in C/García de Vinuesa, 20 (in the atmosperic Arenal area) is one of my favourites in town.

Robles Placentines and Los Cuevas are two that we ate at in Sevilla that especially stood out. I got the recs from Maribels online guides and they were great. Robles is near the cathedral and we had lunch there with a spinach and garbanzo bean dish that was fabUlous. Los Cuevas was across the river, away from Traina and despite our best efforts we were still the first ones in the dining room at past 9:00. But that meant we got undivided attention from the (mostly) non-English speaking staff which gave me a chance to use my poor Spanish. This basically amounted to me just saying "si!" to everything our waiter suggested which resulted in plates of lovely dishes, drinks, wine, etc. We were even brought complimentary liquors after we paid our bill and left feeling like old friends. It was our favorite meal in Spain.

I third Enrique Becerra, muy Sevillano. In Granada I like Chikito for it's old school atmosphere, muy Granadeno. Azahar has great advice, a bit more current then Maribels maybe, (well she can't be everywhere all the time).

Go on and look through the food menus and wines but the best bet is usually the specials on the blackboard on a given day.

WONDERFUL food, casual, friendly, and inexpensive. Amazing wines too...
