Family vacay in Europe

I'm in a family of 6 and we want to go on vacation somewhere in Europe. My dad wants to go Germany, Austria to do historical sightseeing, my mom is interested in Barcelona, and my siblings are into Italy or Greece, but I think Croatia would be fun. In the past we've mostly done vacations to Hawaii and the Caribbean just to relax. We're looking for some great beaches and restaurants and a family friendly environment. I'm 16 and my oldest brother is 23 so we're not a super young family, but we think it would be cool to do some sightseeing day trips and besides that just go to unique and nice beaches. Suggestions?

All the places you mention would be fun, and while I've nothng against Croatia, I think Greece might be the destination most people in your family would find something rewarding, with the possible exception of your mother (if her interest in Barcelona is Gaudi or such, unique to Barcelona).

But obviously your family first needs to agree where to go. Or are you looking for ways from people here to help you persuade them. Why do you want to go to Croatia?

What time of year are you traveling? How many nights will you have on the ground?

Do you have enough weeks to see all of these places - or how many places does it have to be cut down to?

Greece has history up the ying yang,, amazing beaches on the islands, but.. is your dad looking for specific type of history.. this of course will factor big on where you go.
And ,, time of year.. summer time?
Finally .. how long is this trip.. you can fly into one city ( say Barcelona) spend a few days there .. perhaps even rent a car and visit some cute and fun places like Girona and Tossa de Mar ( google for images that will make you beach lovers drool) .. see some history there too.. then .. fly out of Barcelona and do dads section of trip.. Germany etc.. and fly home from there.

As I said.. it would help to have a lot more info.

Ps other option is to split up .. you kids go to a beach for a few days and parents hit some history heavy places.. ie in Greece parents stay on mainland and hit tons of sites. .you guys go out to an island and have some fun..
