I'm putting the challenge out to you well-traveled Paris experts....
I am looking for more recent hotel recommendations for a family or quad room for our family (2 adults / 2 children). Or a place that will guarantee adjoining rooms. (Not all can do that.)
I do not want to say "price is no object," but I am willing to pay a little more for ambiance or space or location. So price isn't the first requirement. I'd say good beds, a good location for our family (6th, 7th, or on the Iles), and most importantly:
a room that can be configured to sleep 4
Whether's it's a 2 queens, or double with a couple rollaway cots or pull out couches for the kids, or 2 adjoining rooms that share a door. (And I don't mean next door, they would need to share a door and open to the other room because our kids are little.)
I realize this limits my choices to maybe only a handful of hotels. I'm open to suggestions all over paris, but our favorite neighborhoods include the 6th (around the Buci Market or up by Luxembourg gardens), in the 7th near the Champs de Mars, or on the Iles.
If we decide to take the RER to CDG that focuses us in around the St Michel or Luxembourg RER stations, but we will most likely take a taxi, so any location in Paris would work if it felt right.

My favorite in the 7ème has at least one quad room (actually, it sleeps 5) with a view of the Tour Eiffel. It probably has several, but the one on the 5th floor is the only one I've booked:

For its adjoining suite for a family of 4, and for its location, the Hotel de Fleurie meets your requirements (http://www.hoteldefleurieparis.com/ ). My wife and two children stayed there several years ago, and took advantage of the two-room arrangement, which are joined thru an entryway which itself has a single door to the hall. You can lock that door and keep the doors to the 2 bedrooms open. Each room also has its own bathroom. Only contraint is cost, which may be a the top of your budget, but the accommodations were quite nice. The hotel is just a few steps from the Odeon metro.
This hotel in the 7th http://hotelempereurparis.com/ has rooms that can be made adjoining at the end of the hall. If you write and explain your situation they will guarantee those rooms. I think both of these rooms will have a view of the Invalides.
Last year, we stayed in the 6th at Hôtel du Danube, at 58, rue Jacob. Very convenient location. The room(s) has one exterior door, and there are two rooms with no door in between; you walk through one room to reach the other. A bit small, but it worked well for our family of 4.

Hotel Fleurie is one of my favorite hotels there in that neighborhood but I didn't realize they had a family rooms/s. The others all sound great too!

I recently spent hours researching quad rooms for our upcoming trip to Paris. There is quite a comprehensive list on the Tripadvisor forum if you search "list of hotels with family/quad rooms". I would give you the link, but am embarrassed to say I don't yet know how to cut and paste on my I Pad.
We checked the Hotel du Danube, which looks great, but each room has one double. My boys would prefer a little more space than that, although it might be fine for young children.

Check out the Victoria Palace Hotel. Their two room family suites are wonderful. Location is the 6th, just off Rue de Rennes, close to Luxembourg Gardens, St. Placide Metro stop, loads of shops and restaurants. We got a rate that included a lavish buffet breakfast, which started the day off with a minimum of fuss, as we were traveling with three children under six years of age.
