Family-friendly rest stops south of Florence on the A1?

I will be picking up my family from the Florence airport at 5:30 pm on a Saturday this summer for a month's sabbatical in Val d'Orcia (I will have already been in the area 10 days). My husband will have traveled with the kids (4.5 years and 15 months) for 15 hours by the time they arrive. We've contemplated staying in Florence for a night or two so we can just hop in a cab and be there in 20 minutes (versus putting the kids in carseats and driving 90 minutes south to our destination near Pienza). But…we will be staying in Florence a couple nights at the end of our month and we really prefer to just get to our main house in the Val d'Orcia rather than hassling with the packing/unpacking, city and cab rides back to car rental pick-up the next day.

So, I would really love to identify some easy stops along the autostrada that are just 20-50 minutes south of the airport. That way, if the kids are eager to run around outside or snuggle with their mom (me) who will be driving, we can pull over and do that, maybe have a picnic and let them blow off some steam before finishing the drive.

Does anyone know of a nice rest area with outdoor play ground or grass in that area? Or perhaps a cool scenic park with grass and a bit of open space? Not far off the autostrada. Just a place or two we can have in our back pocket in case we need to divide our drive in half.

I do have a driving map of Tuscany but it's hard to tell. I'll also be consulting the Via Michelin map online, but wanted to start here with you expert friends!
