I have a few questions about the Fairy Tale road.
What are the road conditions are like in December?
Is it as interesting and enchanting to start in Bremen and travel south?
Is there a different return route (either a quick or an interesting one)?
How many days should we allow in each direction?
If we are traveling in December, will we need to make our lodging reservations in advance?

hi there,
difficult to talk about road conditions. You can have bright skies for 14 days, You can have snow and ice. Normaly it is no problem to drive along all the days, if there is snow they care for the road very fast.
The way back depend on which direction You wanna take. End in Hanau or going to the east to Eschwege. Perhaps it is an idea to go down to Hanau und then up again along the river Fulda to Kassel and do the loop via Goettingen.
Quick return is via AUtobahn A 5/ A 7 / A 27, this is a 5 hour trip from Hanau to Bremen.
How many days depends on how many stops YOu wanne make, that is on You. In Dec You dont need reservations, but make shure if YOu go on the German holidays (24.-26. and 31. - 1.1.).
