Explore Bergen myself or Take Norway In A Nutshell from Oslo to Bergen?

Hi I am going to Bergen from Oslo on 13th December 2015(Sunday), and I have to catch a flight from Bergen at 10.45 am 14th December 2015 (Monday). Should I just go to the Bergen by train and explore the city, or take Norway In A Nutshell Trip from Oslo to Bergen? What would you guys recommend?

P/S: I am carrying a 26 inch luggage with me, so which one would you recommend?

You'll only have daylight from about 9:30 to 3:30pm and the whole NIN trip from Oslo to Bergen is something like 12 hours, so half of it would be in the dark. If you were able to plan it right I suppose you could manage to be on the fjord midday. The suitcase is not a deal breaker but it would be one more negative. I would probably skip it and just get to Bergen. As it is you'd barely have any time to see Bergen and it's a really enjoyable city.

There is only 1 ferry a day in winter and as stated the trip will be mostly in the dark. You could buy minipris ticket Oslo-Bergen 13th December 08:25 currently NOK 749 (you should have booked earlier and got the fare for NOK 249). If the weather is good you could still get off in Myrdal and do the NiN - no need to book rest of journey - pay as you go.
