ever rent an apartment after you get to a city?

Jump to last reply

Been wondering if anyone has ever tried to find a short or longer term apartment rental after they arrived in a city that they wanted to stay in for awhile (several days to several weeks). If there was an intriguing Craigslist ad, one could at least be there in person to check it out and take the keys after payment, or one could inspect some apartments listed on the local newspaper websites. Disadvantages would be spending too much precious vacation time doing this, when it could have been done at home, though probably for a higher price.
