Will be in Switzerland in April (been there 2x previously) and during my research found this museum. Looks great. Never heard of it, although the artist - Geiger - designed the creature in "Alien".
So have you been? There's also a Geiger bar.

oops- that's "Giger" not "Geiger".
Yes, Giger and not Geiger. I was there about 10 years ago shortly after the opening. Some parts of the exhibition were not for the children. Too sexual - sm oriented. The bar across the street from the museum was still being built then.
Hi kenav,
I've never been inside the museum but have been to Gruyeres a bunch of times. Gruyeres itself is well worth a visit -- the landscape is gorgeous with soft rolling hills, and the preserved medieval village is inviting (though, yes, heavily touristed). If you're interested, there is the cheese-making demonstration in the Maison next to the train station, and I'd likely go there just to have more fondue or Creme de Gruyeres (double cream). ummmm.
Have fun!

I haven't been to the museum but the bar is really cool.
Been there twice in the last 12 months. Worth seeing - and another rec for the cool bar just across the street from the museum. (We did both the castle and the Giger museum on the same day - interesting juxtaposition!) Agree with swandav about the lovely countryside around Gruyeres - and it was especially beautiful late last month - the fall colours have been very good this year.
We're not children, so no problem there with content. Thought of this for a possible rainy day activity. Bar sounds cool too.
No cheese for us. My husband hates cheese! (Except mozzarella.)
It's only a little over a three hour drive from Dijon according to Michelin, and my DW wants to see the Museum so we may drive there next Spring. Thanks for the tip.
I didn't visit the museum you ask about, but love love LOVED the castle at Gruyeres. And had a lovely lunch in an old stone restaurant right in the heart of town.
Also have not seen the museum - but have seen the town (charming - and we did have a fantastic lunch in a hotel restaurants on a terrace overlooking the valley), visited the castle - also very interestintg and the gruyere-making facility - only modestly interesting and smelled really cheesy. (My travel partner at the time loved going to every brewery, winery, cheesery, etc in any town we visited. I will still visit wineries - but have had my fill of the others.))
