Europa-Spezial Discount Train Tickets

DB, the German Railways is offering, until Dec 15, 2005 Europa-Spezial tickets for travel between nine German cities and: Copenhagen, Szcezin, Aroclaw and Krakow in Poland, Ljubljana, Verona, Venice, Florence and Zurich - tickets have three prices: 19 euro, 29 euro or 39 euro - quota of 300,000 tickets over six months - probably all sold out by now but who knows for every date?

Good luck getting any of them!

This appears to be just another of the "official" scams Deutsche Bahn is introducing to the public every once in a while. The number of tickets is ridiculously low and it's close to impossible to obtain one of those deals.

IMHO it's about time for the German Cartel Supervisory Board to monitor this practice of "false" advertising.

Hi hsv, I didn't have a problem getting a ticket Munich-Zurich. It's usually only one train per day, but if you leave and return midweek from Munich it's possible. Roundtrip Munich to Rome next week for 58,- is still possible, too.

logos,

sounds great! Should I have to revise my statement?

I tried several days and weeks in order to obtain Hamburg - Copenhagen and failed. As did numerous friends of mine. So you and marty are the first persons I hear of (ever) succeeding in getting cheap train fare. Congratulations!

From June 15 to Aug 15 DB was offering a Sommer-Spezial fare allowing a single journey over any distance for 29 euro or 39 euro - 25,000 tickets a day were available and 40% were booked in the first two days.
