Hi All,

We would like to take sons (8 & 10) to EuroDisney in Aug.08 on our way back from Italy and Nice. We are thinking of staying for 2 days. Any advice on how to do this cheaply (tickets and stay) would be much appreciated!By the way, we are driving ourselves.

I don't think you need two days unless...your sons have never seen a Disney park and aren't likely to in the next several years. The Paris park is smaller than either Anahiem or (obviously) Orlando.On the property but righy outside the Magic Kingdom is a whole Disney Entertainment center, stuff you can see almost anywhere but w/out the mouse ears. For cheap hotel try a Mecure/Acor hotel. Go on the Euro Disney website for information on tickets. Tickets cost what they cost there isn't a cheap way. You can save postage by getting them there and if I'm not mistaken (and I may be) you need to make reservations so don't wait. I bought tickets online and picked them up at the American Express office in Paris at the Opera. By the way you can easily stay in Paris and take the RER to EuroDisney arriving in 35- 45 minutes. It lets you out right at the main gate.

You don't need two days. I did it in one day. It's like Disneyland which I always do in one day. I'm from S.Calif and have been to Disneyland a lot.
I was at EuroDisney, for the opening. I can't remember what year it was, but I think in the 80s. It looks like Disneyland, but doesn't have the feel of Disneyland and the tickets were outrageously expensive.
Just today I was telling someone that the first time I went to Disneyland was in 1957 or 58 when I was barely walking. It's great looking at the old photos of the whole family standing in front of the floral Mickey. Smiles. Happy Travels!

they have an entire section for Disneyland Paris (it's not Eurodisney anymore) and they have a ton of ideas on how to do it on a budget...

I would do 2 days for the children. An adults may say they did it in 1 day but I think you really need 2 days for children to get the best out of it.

Personally I agree with previous poster, I have done it in one day, but with a 14 yr old. I think rushing two young kids around it in one day is penny wise and pound foolish as it will not be that fun and you will miss out on some of the shows etc that little ones still enjoy.

There is no way to get discounts that I know of, except sneak snacks in your purse to help stretch the food budget, or have a picnic in the car in the parking lot( you can in and out on your ticket).

I do want to add that I like many, probaly find time at Disney a waste BUT I dragged my son through many sites in Europe he likely considered a waste of time, and he behaved pretty decently staring at the stained glass windows in about " the hundreth church this trip" again and again, that a day at Disney was fair pay back.

Let the kids have the two days for their silly fun.

You may want to consider Gardaland if you're travelling at the end of August.

We go every two years to Europapark in Rust, Germany. We love the place. We try to only go when the crowds are low.

Disney Paris can be a disappointment to anyone who has ever been to another Disney Park. If you're set on going I won't talk you out of it.

If you're going to be there before Aug 15th there is a 15% off deal when you stay at a Disney Hotel. We stayed at the Davey Crockett Ranch. I really can't recommend it -- but I'll tell you about it. They are advertised as "log cabins" but are really single wide trailers. We rented one because we thought it would be better than a single hotel room. It had a kitchen, a bedroom with 3 beds (one queen and one set of bunk beds) and a murphy bed in the living room. They could have been, and may have been at some time, really cute. Our first one stunk so badly we asked to be moved. The second one was cleaner -- but I still refused to use the kitchen for anything other than the fridge. It did have a nice indoor pool with a great slide and a lazy river that my son enjoyed. You can't walk to the park, but you get free parking at the park. It was fine, but nothing more than that. If you're not picky it might work for you too.

Eurodisney is fine for those who are obssessed with Disney, or have younger children and want to have a day with no museums or churches to visit, , but if you have already visited other Disneys then I would not take time to visit this one.
