percy - not quite - perhaps my questions were badly phrased.

1. There are at least 2 vaporetto lines that go down the Grand Canal - I'm after the FAST one [which is still open to all].

2. The sculptor in question is italian, though at the request of Napoleon he worked in Paris for a while. It's the resting place of his heart that I'm after, somewhere in Venice.

BTW, the Campo San Stefano was the nearest campo to my apartment and i was down there quite often but I never went into the church. Nor did I see a campanile there - if there is one, I'm pretty certain that you can't climb it, and it definitely wasn't one of the two I was thinking of. Sorry if I wasn't clear - again!

Percy - bravo again - re no 11, the Ponte Calatrava is also known as the Ponte della Costituzione, but I'm not going to split hairs [or spelling] with you.

oops - I realised that your answer to no 7 is not correct - there are of course some wonderful mosaics in St Mark's Basilica, but they are not 1000+ years old, and I'm still waiting for:

Also, if you are including outer islands there are old mosaics and another campanile at Santa Maria Assunta.

You have to know what to google for in the first place.

I do not know 6&7... Iooked at my Venice notes and pictures of my 2 trips to Venice plus I have a DK book on Venice... but still cannot find 6& 7.

Just because I have been there does not mean I saw everything.

Thin google the answers for 6 & 7 see if you can do it.

Tom-mn - you're right, Line 2 is now the fast one - stopping only at P. Roma, Ferrovia, the Rialto, San Toma, San Samuele, Academia and San Marco.

Percy - a clue - one of the answers for no 8 is also the answer for no 7. I am impressed with your determination!
