4- What river is Amsterdam located on? (Well now a canal but still called the XXXXXX River.

5- Three rivers converge at this Bavarian border town - what is the town and what three large rivers converge in it?

6- The Thames above the Iffley Lock in Oggsford is called what name by at least some folks at the University - the famed rowing course is in this stretch of the Thames called the ???

7- This river starts at a glacier with the same name and bifurcates just after what town in Provence, where it enters the Camargue flood plain or whatever they call that swampy area?

8- In the greater Paris area - two main rivers flow into the Seine - what are they?

9- Schengen, Luxembourg is on what famous river? What are two names of this river - one used in Holland and Belgium and the other in France.

Good luck - the one with the most correct gets a one-way trip down the River of No Return!

MaineGG gets the first three - 2, 4 and 7 correct but not # 8 though it was a good guess!

annhig has #10 right of course, being in Cornwall, and 1/3 of #1.

The Marne flows into the Seine just south of where the Périphérique crosses the Seine.

The Oise flows into the Seine near Conflans-Sainte-Honorine.

Which other main rivers are there in the area?

You'll know that the most populaer name for a river in the UK is "Avon" (and that includes the Welsh ones that are "Afon") but do you know what Avon means....River!

So we go on the River River....

8. I want to know your answer since mine (Marne & Oise) is apparently incorrect.

Maine- no yours is spot on correct - these are indeed the two main rivers I had in mind so not sure of why there is confusion but I apologize for any - unbeknownest to me - you did more than answer but told exactly where.

Cheers!
