esbelli evi or sacred house in cappadocia, turkey?
Hi there,
We are trying to decide where to stay in Cappadocia. Both of these places have been recommended to us and look wonderful. Is there anyone familiar with both who can tell us which they would choose? They are similar enough in price so that it does not matter.
Thanks!!

Hawaii Moon! Oh, yes..the Esbelli for a real "cave" hotel..strata adorn the walls..Bill (Suha) the delgithful owbner is very helpful..highlight of our first visit to Turkey severral years back....Rent your car in Kayseri or Urgupo, and return anywhere in the coujntry...roads are very well maintannied, and petrol is everywhere..and they'll even wash your car as part of the service..visit the Lake District, relatively untouristy...stay at the Hotel Egridir, plain and simple but the best bet in that lovely area.

Here is a difficult dilamma....
They are both spceial places.
Esbelli is the pioneer of cave hotels in Cappadocia and surely has its own line. Suha's personality, charm of the place and the experince in the field location. I like Esbelli very much.
You have a modist comfort and privacy.
Sacred House is one of the newcomer of cave hotels in the region. Having said that the best of the newcomers for sure. 7 rooms, elagance and have also its own charm. This place is also special with its owners personality.
I would say its the top one at luxury segment.
As a person who have great deal of involvment in small & luxury hotel segment I can honestly say one thing for Cappadocia; its almost impossible to compare two property. Point is where is the property, who runs it, how small or how big, what is the background of the owners, who serves you etc.
There are places looks like a gem but you get Zero service or even below zero. There are hotels not significant but you receive a superb service and hospitality. So expectations, budget are also other factors. One might like something so much and writes at forums, bulletens and you take the word might get totaly someother experince other than you expected. When the recommended person visit the hotel is also another factor for the satisfaction.....
Here I can only tell you one thing they are both my favorites and can not compare each other. You have a difficult task to solce ;-)
Happy travelling,
Murat
