English Football Tickets for March

My husband and I will be in the Cotswolds from March 17-24. He would love to attend a football match during our stay. We have not had much luck researching teams and schedules for March on the internet, and wondered if anyone out there has any suggestions about good teams in the lower divisions who might be playing in he Cotswolds in March.

Hi, in Division 2 there are two games that would fit in during your stay.

Wed 17th March - Swindon v Grimsby
Kick-off at 19.45
Sat 20th March -Bristol City v Oldham
Kick-off at 15.00

In division 3 there are also two games.

Wed 17th - Oxford Utd v Cheltenham Town
Kick-off at 19.45
Sat 20th - Cheltenham Town v Bury
Kick-off at 15.00

Depends whereabouts you are staying in the Cotswolds of course, and what time you arrive on your first day

You should be able to get a complete schedule (fixtures) by going to the team's website.

You'd have to travel to a large town or a city to watch a Div 1 or Premiership game. Nearest will be Birmingham, Aston Villa and Wolverhampton (Premier) and Coventry, West Bromwich and Walsall (Div 1). They are all around 35-50 miles away to the north. Of these, Aston Villa v Blackburn on March 20 at 3 pm is probably the most accessible, as Villa rarely sell out. You can probably get a ticket on the day or buy a ticket online from the club's website http://www.avfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page...,10265,00.html
Cheltenham Town (Div 3) game will be your nearest, around 15 miles away (the ground is on Whaddon Road a short distance to the east of centre), or you can probably watch a non-league local team in action. See local paper for details.

Villa vs Blackburn will also be the biggest (and therefore most interesting) game too see, as Villa have a large stadium (seats around 43,000).

Who knows I may even see you there, as I'm a Villa fan, and my partner supports Blackburn Rovers. I'll be the one sat on my own, as there's no way my partner would sit with "the enemy" fans.
