Planning a trip to Austria and at end of trip we fly into London, stay for 3 days, then fly out. We have never visited England. I have distant relatives in Yorkshire, who I would need to contact if we can get there. Really desire your thoughts about what to do with just 3 nights. (I wish it were 3 weeks) Time to see countryside? Where? Trains to take? Where to stay?
England 3 nights, what to see? Fly into and out of London, + 3 nights.

With just 3 nights I, and I suspect others, will recommend staying in London. If 3 nights then that's just 2 full days. You could use half of one of those to visit Windsor Castle or Hampton Court Palace or Kew Gardens to see a more outlying area. But I think, really, it's the practical choice to stay overnight all 3 nights in London or environs.
Are your flights booked? If not and Yorkshire is a 'must', then forget London and fly into Manchester.
But if you are already booked in/out of London - then VERY first thing I'd do is contact the Yorkshire rels and see if they could travel down to London to Visit you.
That would simplify everything - you could see a bit of London (not all that much but enough to get a taste) and still see the relatives.
Thank you for your replies!! The flights are not booked yet, so I will look into flying into Manchester. You answered my question that if we do fly into London we should stay in London and see what we can in our short time there. Kind regards, Kiki
