Hello!!
I am going to Italy, specifically Rome, this summer and I have been researching adapters for the outlets. I am just confused on what type of adapter I should get. I plan on charging my iPhone, google tablet, and camera. I do not plan to bring anything like hairdryers or straighteners. Any advice (especially links) would be awesome. Thank you so much!

For chargers, this ungrounded plug will be fine, and takes up very little space:

This has two adapters, and each has two sockets, so (assuming you can find two free outlets) you could charge four devices at once.

Get ONE adaptor and take an extension cord. Unless you have a whole bunch of high wattage devices being charged at the same time that should work. I do this routinely to charge up my android phone, Kindle, and a small laptop computer. All three could be charged simultaneously but it isn't necessary; I generally recharge the computer overnight.

OR, charge your computer if you have one and attach the phone to the computer to charge it.

Plug adapters are easy to find in Rome and cheap; many souvenir shops stock them, even if they are not in the display windows.

This may be overkill but We would rather be safe than sorry or have to spend time hunting down what we need during our vacation. We have tested them out and they work fine at home.

We bought adapter type L for italy. Is this ok>?

You can get them for about $1 each on eBay. I usually buy 10 at a time (same with Europe->US adapters for friends coming here).

You have to look carefully at expected delivery date if they are coming from Asia.

Another thing to watch out for are mounts that are too wide, and do not fit into European sockets (even though the prongs are the right shape & size). Get adapters that look nice and narrow.

I take several plug adapters (they are cheap - a few dollars) and a two outlet usb plug (much smaller than drchris 5 outlet).

While that strip accepts several different plugs, it has an American plug end with ground. With that, you would need the second plug adapter that bvlenci linked to plug it into the wall. You can also get a cheater plug and stack it with a regular adapter (defeats the ground purpose).

P.S., getting lots of cheap plugs is nice because then once you get to Europe you can tape them securely onto each of your devices. That way you never have to worry about finding the thing, and (most important) you don't have to worry about losing the adapter by pulling your device out of the socket and departing, while the adapter stays behind in the socket.
