Scrunchita thank you so much for taking the time & effort to create these great reports which I read & re read. For us it was a pleasure to read these! Please keep writing them!
ana maria
Thanks, Ana! I will be writing an Africa one soon so stay tuned! And storkie is calling!!
Thank you so much for this post.
We are leaving for Venice on Sunday and I will print some of these for airplane reading enjoyment.
Hi again Eks,
So when are you going to the Amalfi Coast? Can't wait to hear about it!
Hi Dayle! We will go the last week in April/first week in May. I reserved at Residenza del Duca in Amalfi and am now working on Naples hotels! As for the flights, it actually seems less problematic to fly JFK-MAD and MAD- Naples than to fly through Rome or Milan. The connections thru those last two cities are not as good and one wonders if Alitalia is a good bet right now.
Thanks for all your help!
eks - I am thinking about a trip to Piemonte and cannot find a report from you on this area. I know you have been. What am I missing and how come I can't find it here? Thanks for your help !!

Thanks very much Marija !!
Thanks very much. You are my go to person when looking for the best info.
Hi all,
I am looking for a thread that included a list of suggested restaurants and places to eat in Puglia, but can't find it now. I thought ekscrunchy created it. If anyone remembers or can find it, I'd be grateful!
Mike
mikewalsh,
Here are links to two:

Click on ekscrunchy's name and then scroll down to see all the trip reports.
Hi Ellenem, thanks for getting back to me. I did what you suggested (I read all of eskruncy's Puglia trip reports as well as several others') and I also scrolled though about 100 of escrunchy's threads (Fodors lets you go back 3 years) and didn't recognize the link or thread. I'll find it, we don't leave until early Sept, and I have time!
Mike
Using the Advanced Search feature, you can go back much more than three years, but you have to search three years at a time--just change the dates to the time period you want to search.
@mike - try this one, http://www.fodors.com/community/europe/any-dont-miss-puglia-restaurants.cfm
or this one perhaps
http://www.fodors.com/community/europe/puglia-restaurant-list-comments.cfm
I was just in Puglia this past fall and did lots of research on this board. there were many threads that had restaurant suggestions. I don't recall any that was only a listing of restaurants in Puglia.
U can check out my TR .
Yestravel, those two threads have tons of great suggestions and contain a few restaurant 'lists' I think I remembered reading (when I was focused on towns to visit and hotels/masserie). Thanks so much for this and your trip report!

I will add one more to this thread; it just surfaced when I posted the link someplace else:

Per one of your reports, I ordered a (used) copy of The Collected Traveler: Southwest France. I am so glad I did! Thanks, ekscrunchy.
Where is your latest report ? Did you get to Gaucin and Malaga ?
Thanks eks! Looking forward to hearing about your Amalfi trip!
EKS, you must eat at Acquapazza in Cetara while you are in Amalfi - and buy some colatura to take home with you if they have it! But leave some for me, as I am returning there in June!!
EKC: I did eat at Acquapazza. (on a trip last year that began in Lamezia Terme (Calabria) and took us along the coast through Maratea, Cilento, to the Amalfi area.; never did write about it here but did write a food report on CH)
You are so right!! That lunch at Aqcuapazza was without a doubt among the best meals of that 2-week-plus trip, if not THE best meal. Loved that place! I had brought home other colatura from Cetara before, but next time (and there WiLL be a next time!) I will buy their own product.
And, your time in Gaucin and Malaga ????
eks, we also had a fantastic meal at Lido Azzuro in Amalfi. We loved Lido Azzuro and Acquapazza so much that we are going back in June!
What's your "handle" on CH? I still need to do a report over there on our last trip in Umbria and Raito (with an overnight at Don Alfonso in Sant Agata de Due Golfi - amazing).
bookmarking. thanks ek!!!
