Edinburgh's Tram System Opens For Business
After 7 years of disruption, £200M over budget, and no doubt a collective sigh of relief from long-suffering local residents, Edinburgh's tram system came into operation today:-

The trams link Edinburgh airport with York Place at the eastern end of the city centre, passing through intermediate stops in Corstorphine, Haymarket and along Princes St.
Cash ticket prices range from £1.50 single within the city centre to £8 return to/from the airport, and can be bought from vending machines at each stop. There are also a range of day passes and season tickets valid on the buses as well.
