Trip Report Edinburgh Pubs

As promised I am making recommendations for places as separate threads so that they will be easily searchable when others are looking for recommendations.

Pubs: (New Town)

The Queen's Arms (Frederick St.)

GREAT, cozy, traditional pub atmosphere. We did not eat here so I cannot  comment on food. Sadly, IMPOSSIBLY CROWDED and LOUD on wknds but lovely on off hours.

Milne's  (Rose St)

Another traditional pub where we also ate lunch.  I had a good mushroom "rabbit", DH had a ploughman's board.

Rosehip (Rose St)

Only "OK" for atmosphere--too modern for me, and felt like it did not know if it was a pub it a tea room in its vibe. However, I had a superb bowl of soup!

Old town:

The Last Drop, Grassmarket

WONDERFUL! In some ways, my fave, but I love pubs so much, it is like trying to pick your favorite child! :)
I love them all! (exceptRosehip)
More great soup, but mostly that pub feeling that you long for when remembering your time in the UK!
