EDINBURGH B&B

Looking for information on B&B in Edinburgh. Travelling with a group of 4 couples and all the b&bs in the area seem to have only one or two rooms. Anyone know of any that have more rooms for larger groups? (ensuite is important to us in the medium price range) Would appreciate any suggestions ... even if all couples couldn't stay at the same b&b but could be in the same local area. Thanks Walt

Have researched the Edinburgh hotel and B&B situation for June as well, and phoned some places. I prefer to stay in small hotels, say 5-10 rooms, as opposed to a house with only a room or two. So, it seems the best places are around Coates Gardens, there are 4 or 5 small hotels within walking distance of the Royal Mile and Princes St. A 10 min walk. I have chosen the Beresford Hotel on Coates Ave..,. I get a double room, ensuite (but its only me occupying it) for 35 Pounds. The other great place is on Royal Terrace Ave., there are 4 or 5 small hotels within walking distance of the Mile and Princes ST. such as the Adria Hotel TEL: 011 44 131 556 7875 The Ailsa Craig, and the Terrace Hotel Tel: 011 44 131`556 3423 All of them had single ensuite rooms for 35 pounds , but some of them were sold out already for early June. There is one hotel very close to the centre that is a great deal and very popular, called the Victoria Hotel. They have no ensuites available anymore as they get booked up immedialtely, but they have standard rooms for 25 pounds per night single. Very close to centre. As for the rest of the B&Bs, they are all mostly a bus ride away. I decided I'd rather pay the extra 5 or 10 pounds to just walk from my hotel to where I'm going to. Hope you have fun.

You might try: Valhalla Guest House. On their card it says: B&B, En-Suite Facilities, TV, Coffee, Parking. Full Traditional Breakfast; Good bus route to city centre. Proprietor: Julia Stevenson-Renwick, 35 Comiston View, Edinburgh
EH10 6LP; telephone 0131 445 5354; mobile phone 040
218 8725. Lovely lady proprietor gave me her card here in Arizona last week; she was traveling, was overwhelmed by America, seemed like a thoroughly nice person indeed. Instincts tell me she would be a winner for you.

Last September we stayed at Gloria's Place, 20 London St., Edinburgh EH3 6NA, Scotland. Tel. 44(0)131 557 0216, Fax 44 (0) 131 556 6445, e-mail [email protected],uk. Bed and full breakfast for two for 70 pounds per night. We found the place to be very comfortable, convenient to everything (walking distance), and Gloria is a delightful hostess.

Hi, I just got back from Edinburgh in March. We stayed at the GREENSIDE HOTEL (really a B&B) on the Royal Terrace. It was very nice - nothing fancy - but very helpful staff, beautiful gardens, ALL ENSUITE & within walking distance of the royal mile & lots of restaurants. We paid 60 pounds per night. P.S. there were 2 or 3 other B&B's on the same street - so you could possibly split up among a couple of B&B's.
We liked the Greenside, and recommend it.
Have fun in Edinburgh.
