Edinburgh airport taxi recos?

Hi everyone,

Can you recommend a good taxi/private car service from Edinburgh Airport to the centre of the city (Waverly Station)?

Be specific. If you're asking about private car service that will meet you and take you into the city, that's one thing. Otherwise, you grab the next cab just like anyone else.

There is no need at all for a car service from EDI -- taxis are plentiful . . . have no idea what you mean by a 'good' taxi service.

Are you going specifically to Waverly station -- or just to near Waverly station?

In case you are just asking abut transport in general, the tram stops not far from the station

The Airlink bus stops outside Waverley Station.

Assuming you are going to catch a train where are you heading to as Waverley may not be the best option

Thanks - janisj's second posting was the type of response that helps. We've been to other cities where private car hire was much more effective.

Next time, instead of criticizing those of us who are volunteering time to respond, you should ask a better question like "From the standpoints of reliability and cost, is it better for us (# people) to take a taxi or use a car service to travel from EDI to the center of Edinburgh - our destination is near Waverly station."

I could have been clearer - thanks for janisj's second response and dotheboyshall's response - both were very helpful.
