He favorably reviewed a restaurant we'd been to and liked, so I believe he has good taste!

Thanks for letting us know about his two books.

Such books are always useful for some people, but not for all of us. I just smile at the thought of anybody needing a book for assistance regarding eating in France.

Keep smiling, Kerouac. I've had some great and not so great food in France. Maybe the humility book would suit you better.

Dukey if there were a like button, I'd use it.

Kerouac, you admit you don't go to pricey restaurants
but many do on vacation but don't at home so a good reviewer helps you so you don't waste your money on a bad choice.
You should lighten up.

I recently gave a friend "Mastering the Art of French Eating," and she pronounced it delicious. At the moment she's vacationing in Provence, lucky woman.

@ cigalechanta, thanks for posting the review. I had the same thought about a "like" button.

@kerouac, I have never bought a book to find out where to eat in Paris. I do review them, and people do buy them. If you take the time to read my review, you'll see that restaurant recommendations are secondary in Alexander Lobrano's books. Both books are wonderful reads. And Hungry for France is in a larger format than most people want to tuck into their suitcase.

There are people out there who enjoy just reading about food, and Lobrano's writing could, I suspect, make even a book on tax preparation interesting.

@Underhill, I'm glad to hear that. I gave that book to my daughter for her birthday, and she seemed excited. I don't know if she has finished it yet.
