Easter 2015 in Paros: Parikia or Naoussa?

I will be in Paros for 2015 Easter from April 8th to 14th. I am in doubt about staying in Parikia or Naoussa. It will be nice to participate on traditions and customs, procession, Margiritsa (yummy), roasted lamb,.. , folk dances... I would appreciate advices! Efxaristó!

I've never been to Paros for Easter, but Parikia would have more things open that time of year. I found this interesting link:

Tks a lot, Heimdall. Still, do you have a favorite place for this season, instead of Paros?

Our stay in. Naoussa was our favorite place in the Greek islands, loved it. Lots of atmosphere, nearby beaches, a variety of dining at every price point, beautiful.

I prefer Nauossa to Parikia. But I'm concerned as Heimdall said that many places might not be open at that time of year. When we visited in May of 2014, some restaurants/boutiques/etc. were still closed for the season.

We were in Naoussa in summer 2014 and it was my favorite place in the greek islands also. Will definitely go back. Not sure whether all the places will be open during easter though. Paroikia may be a better option as it is the main town. If you are looking at accomodation, maybe speak to the hotel to find out what is open during easter in Naoussa.
Your other option is maybe central greece - Thessaly is amazing during easter. Maybe stay in Trikala or Kalambaka and visitthe meteora

I have been on Paros on Easter 2010 and was based in Naoussa. If my memory serves me right, Greek Easter was again early April and the town was very very quiet. Only a few taverns, shops and cafes were open, allowing for an intimate feeling of course, but on the other hand somehow boring if you had no side trips planned during the day. I think the same might apply on Parikia too off-season though, planning to keep your self busy with some activities or sight-seen is important when beach/watersports are not an option.

Parikia is the major town on Paros, with a large permanent population, and the place where many people from other parts of the island work, shop, and go to school. Ekatontapyliani (Church of 100 Doors) is probably the most beautiful church in the Cyclades. That is where I would stay for any off-season visit to Paros. Marpissa, where the Good Friday procession is held, is about 12 miles from Parikia.
