Early morning flight after cruise

Hello! My friends and I are doing a Baltic cruise next spring. We will be in Copenhagen for three days prior to the cruise, and when we disembark we will be flying SAS to Venice. Our flight is at 9 a.m. We plan to self-disembark for the earliest possible departure, hopefully at around 6:30 a.m. Will getting to the airport at this hour on a Monday morning be an issue for us?

Thanks!
Tina

What time is the ship's arrival in port? What time must you be at the airport to go through security to catch the flight? How much time will it take for you to get from the ship to the airport?

You should allow an hour or so after the ship docks for you to depart. It could be sooner, but you can't be sure. Add in time for ship to airport. Add in security time.
Work backwards.
Flight at 9:00
Board at 8:30
Be at gate by 8:20
Security 7:30
Depart ship 6:30
All good, but can you depart ship by 6:30? What time does the airlines say you should check in?

Are you deboarding with your baggage or do you have to wait and pick up? You are cutting it very close imo.

the airport is very organized through security.. if that helps at all. and although we stayed in the city centre getting to the airport was pretty easy. Everyone ride bikes there so the roadways are not as crowded as we see.

I would probably google the map at the time and day you are wanting to go to see what that says. i.e. Mon at 6am..

WOW, seems a bit tight to me. I have not disembarked in Copenhagen, but I cruise a lot. In my experience I find you can never count on anything when it comes to disembarkation. I have been off and out of the terminal in 25 minutes including US customs, and I have been delayed from even leaving the ship for over 3 hours and then 2 hours through US customs. I will say that it seems my international disembarkations have gone OK. You truly have no wiggle room. I wish you the best of luck.

Okay - ship says we will arrive at 5 a.m. and that disembarkation for people carrying their own bags will begin at 5:30 a.m. SAS says we should be at the airport 1-1/2 hours before our flight (since we are traveling within Europe and not back to the US). Flight leaves at 9:20. Brilliant idea to Google the travel time on a Monday morning! Will do that tomorrow. Most folks are saying 45 minutes tops to get to the airport from the port, so we'll see if that holds.

Flight at 9:20
Board at 8:50
Be at gate by 8:30
Security 7:00
Depart ship 6:00

This seems a "doable" schedule to me. At least I'm sincerely hoping so. We should all be able to check-in with SAS from the ship the day before we disembark, so that shouldn't be an issue.

This may work fine if the ship docks exactly on time and you take your own luggage off and are ready to do so as soon as possible.

If their is any delay in your boat docking and you need to wait for them to unload your luggage I think your chances of making this flight are not good.

I think you will be OK if nothing happens to delay ship. Let the ship people know you have an early flight and need to disembark asap.

Why would this person have to wait for them to unload luggage? They aren't going to allow the crew to even HAVE their luggage if they are keeping it in their cabin the night beforehand.

I'd station myself at the head of the gangway that will be used for disembarkation and the ship's crew/information desk will KNOW which one that is.

I think you'll be fine, frankly, especially at that hour getting to the airport.

Our ship arrived at 7am Sunday (but actually sooner), we had found out where to position ourselves to get off ASAP with our 1 carryon, we walked out of the port, grabbed a cab to the train station and by 745 was on the train and 825 at the airport. Nervewracking but doable. Our flights were not until 1030, so it worked but any delay...
