Eagle's Nest weather, Germany
If we plan a trip to southern Germany in May or June, is it likely that we
will be able to travel up to the Eagle's Nest or is there a chance the
roads will not be open yet?

The roads will definitly be open.
Be aware that the main attraction of the Obersalzberg mountain is Hitler's bunker, not the teahouse (which you call Eagle's nest), although the view from there is impressive.

Thx traveller1959. I am also reading about foggy/cloudy conditions that
obliterate the view. Is this the rule or the exception? If we could choose
a time, is morning preferable to afternoon?

The bunkers made the hair on my neck stand up. I looked around but got out of there. It is a bit overwhelming, the horror of it all but history needs to be preserved.
we had a huge snow in Oct and the bus was not running, I suppose in the early morning the fog could be bad. Wait till late morning so it can burn off. My husband got to go in July once but not sure I want to go back to try again.
