Hi
Is it possible to do the tour the Eagle Nest and the salt mine in Berchtesgaden in one day from Munich. I was thinking of taking the train early morning and head to the salt mine (tour for 2-3 hours) then bus to the eagle nest (stay for 2-3 hours including museum and documentation center ) before coming back at the end of the day to Munich. Please note this will take place this month ( High Season)
Any additional thoughts are welcome
Thanks in advance

I think to get from Munich to Berchtesgaden by train would be about 2.5-3 hours. We did the Salt Mines in Berchtesgaden but the tour was definitely not 2-3 hours. My notes don't say how long - but maybe an hour(?) so you could make up some time there. Eagles Nest could be about 2-3 hour stay. Check out all the train times and see when you can leave Munich in the am, and depart Berchtesgaden in the pm. I suspect it can probably be done.
If it was me, I would consider renting a car for the day so you don't have to worry about train/bus times and particularly getting from salt mines to Eagles Nest - but then I have a hubby who loves to drive.
Ahmad,
Eagle’s Nest is very interesting with fabulous views – on a clear day. We were told to go early in the day for the best viewing which worked out well.
