Dylan Hotel in Dublin
I'm wondering just how far of a walk this is to the center of Dublin? Is it so out of the way that I should stay somewhere closer to Temple Bar or would it only be a 10-15min walk?

What's the attraction of Temple Bar? It's not a place where most people would want to stay, unless they are participating in a weekend of boozing and wenching.
Go for genteel respectability in Dublin 4 and enjoy your morning constitutional, a 10-minute stroll to where it's at (12 minutes to Temple Bar to see the hoi polloi).

Hi,
It's probably more like 20 mins walk to Grafton St area and half-an-hour to Temple Bar but I'd be inclined to stick with it. It's a nice area, , and the walk into town is along a good-looking Georgian street with a few nice bars and restaurants along the way. Loads of buses to the centre if the weather's bad or you can't be bothered. Dylan is fun, too.
Have a good time anyway.

Its in a lovely area and supposed to be a great hotel. Temple bar is a dump in comparison. There is a nice caf3e across from the hotel and several places to eat and drink around the corner on Baggott st. Its a 5 minute easy bus ride in to Grafton street area.

Stick with it- it's supposed to be lovely and the area is nice.
Unless you're part of a stag or hen party from England where wearing matching t-shirts or "hilarious" comedy wigs/fancy dress costumes and drinking 10 pints of lager followed by throwing it up is your idea of a fun night out then stay away from Temple Bar.
