Dubrovnik to Tuscany?

I am travelling with my 22yo daughter in MAY.
We r planning to spend around 10 days/2weeks on the Dalmatian Coast and wondered if Tuscany is close enough to visit for a few days or are we trying to do too much. We love sightseeing and outdoor adventuring but need some advice. We do have some flexibility about our length of travel but need some good input.
Thanks
Tadpole

Getting from Croatia to Italy will eat up quite a bit of your time in travel. Your options are to fly or to take a combination of ferries and trains. Flying would obviously be the fastest, but would most likely still end up taking a day each way. So, I guess it depends how badly you want to see Tuscany.
A resource for finding cheap flights is www.harefares.com.
For ferries try:
www.snav.it
www.jadrolinija.com
For trains in Italy:
www.trenitalia.com
www.italiarail.com
I hope that helps!

The flight from DBV to Rome is one hour. Then you would need to pick up a car and have about a 2 hour or so drive to southern Tuscany--further to the Florence area. Depending on how many days you have and what airport you would be leaving from it is doable. There is a 4pm flight to Rome so you could do all this in the evening and be ready in the morning to start your new adventure.
