Dubrovnik-Split Bus Luggage Storage

Does anyone know about luggage storage on this bus route? Is luggage placed under the bus or overhead racks?
Is there a bathroom on the bus? Probably not!
Thanks for any info.

Well, it has been a few years since I rode one of them, but when we went from Split to Dubrovnik the bus was a modern one that was air conditioned, and had a toilet. The driver would store the larger pieces of luggage in compartments beneath the bus. As I recall, there was a very small charge for this.

Probably no need, but I would watch at each intermediate stop to make sure our bags did not take a hike -- but then I'm a worry wart.

Make sure you get seats on the outside of the bus (right side going from Split to Dubrovnik, left going the other way) so you will be able to see the spectacular scenery. At some points you can look almost straight down at the tiny villages hugging the edge of the blue, blue, sea.

It's on my bucket list to stop and visit some of those really remote and (I'll bet) really special places. Actually, we did stop at two of them, Omis, and Makarska; both stops worthwhile and interesting.

I took a bus from Dubrovnik to Korcula in 2009 - probably the same kind of bus you'd take to Split. Modern, clean, comfortable as buses go. Luggage on this bus was placed under the bus, and there was a per-piece luggage charge for doing so. (Have some Croatian currency handy for that.)

I don't recall if there was a bathroom on my bus or not - probably. Still, expect the bus to stop at least once or twice for a break. Our bus did - and so have other buses I've been on in this region. This is partly a break for the driver (smoke break, etc.) but you can probably use a real bathroom when you stop for a break, which might be at some sort of gas station, mini-market, etc.

Also, understand that the bus from Dubrovnik to Split actually goes through a tiny sliver of Bosnia and Herzegovina while driving up the coast, so there may be a brief passport check. Not a big deal, just don't pack your passport in the bag under the bus.

There is a tiny slice of Bosnia on the road from Dubrovnik to Split where buses often stop for breaks and to induce you into tax-free shopping.
