dublin to london by train + boat

Jump to last reply

We're thinking of a trip this summer (or, possibly the next, depending on potential conflicts in the shorter run) that would start us off in Dublin, with about 5 to 7 days in and around Dublin, and the remainder of the time in the UK (perhaps that town in Wales with all the bookshops, Hastings, Canterbury, Oxford and back to London for a final week or so, all by train on the UK side.

Is there something like a "boat train" (or bus) that we can take from Dublin to the east Eire coast, and follow with a boat to Wales, i.e., can this be a fairly organized journey without separate bookings of train (bus) and boat, with good train conections in the UK?
