Dropping off a rental car in Chiusi question

Jump to last reply

Do you know if a rental car can be dropped off on a day that the rental company is closed?

We originally planned to take the train from Rome to Chiusi and rent a car for the few days we'll be staying in Montepulciano, then return the car in Chiusi and train to Florence.

Well we are leaving Rome on a Sunday and the Chiusi car rental agencies are closed, so now we are renting a car in Rome. I have just out that the day we would return the car in Chiusi is Republic Day and the rental company isn't open.

If need be we will return the car the night before and take a bus back to the apartment in Montepulciano, then returning to Chiusi the next day (bus or taxi) to take the train to Florence. We aren't keen on driving into Florence. I rented an apartment close to the train station that we can walk to.

I'm just wondering if they might have a key drop off and we can just leave the car? Any advice is welcome. Thanks.
