Hi everybody, I'm from Italy and I'm brand new to this forum. I'm here expecially for trying to discover if Motorola Droid 2 Global is capable of its complete functionality ( phone calls and web access ) on an european carrier net, like Orange, Tim or Wind, after has been unlocked from Verizon; can anybody help me? Thanks in advance to everybody, ciao

My DD had the Motorola, but it kept acting up (in the States) and switched to the Incredible 2. Regardless, once Verizon has given you the unlock code the Motorola is fine just about anywhere, other than S. Korea, where they use a "whitelist" for phones instead of a "blacklist" like almost everywhere else (but that will change next year.
The Motorola and Incredible are both quad-band phones as well as using 2100 wcdma for 3g. You will need to use the settings menu to select your carrier, otherwise it may well try to default to Vodafone, which is more expensive.

thanks a lot for your prompt and exhaustive reply, Dave. I've just bought a used D2G on ebay, I hope to be able surf the net in Italy and Europe with no problems.
ciao
