Driving where to stop question June 2014

Leaving Siena on 6/26 heading to Bellagio....where to stop?
Didn't care for San Remo last time...like countryside action...what do you suggest?
Venice after Bellagio so want to stay on West side....right?
Was in love with Villa Il Poggiale in San Casciano but not available for us 6/26-6/28 this time....too long of a drive to go straight from Siena to Bellagio ....
Only part of two weeks can't figure out....

It was a fairly easy drive from Bologna to Bellagio, so I do not see why it can't be done in one day from Siena (about 4.5 hrs according to Google map).

Somewhere near Parma would seem a logical choice.

What do you mean by "countryside action"? If you would be interested in bicycling, there's an area to the west of Milan, along the Ticino river, with lots of canals and bike paths, and also some very beautiful old villas to see. A few of the villas welcome visitors.

We did a biking tour of this area a few years ago, staying in a bed&breakfast near Abbiategrasso. Because it's such great biking country, there are lots of places to rent bikes near the canal tow paths.

On the west side, very close to Padua you can meet the largest thermal centre in Europe. You can have a restoring warm bath at http://www.aristonmolino.it/termal-b...pa-abano-terme
