Driving Trip: Berlin to Riga

Jump to last reply

I am planning a 10 day trip from Berlin to Riga and Tallinn. There are four of us and we were planning on renting a car in Berlin and driving to Riga. The map says it is 530 miles from Berlin to Riga. I am sure this is not like the US where this distance could be covered in 9 hours.

1. From someone who is familiar with the area or has driven this stretch, how long can I expect this to take? (Berlin to Riga and Riga to Tallinn)
2. Are there any notable spots you could suggest along the way?
3. If I do not have a Russian Visa, will I need to drive around the Russian borders.
4. Any other advice about vast space with I know very little about would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much
