According to a travelnavigator at:
http://www.route66.nl/demo/demo.html
it will take abaut 9 hrs and 30 minutes with normal speed and traffic. Don't forget that French highways are rather expensive to drive on and that the gas is at least 3 dollars per gallon.

In reality I would have calculated with 12 hours. It is a long way, you need rests and there may be traffic jams.

I lean towards the 9.5 hours myself. Take it slow and stop for at least a visit if not the night in Nimes, Lyon or Dijon. If you want to avoid the tolls then take the smaller secondary roads. They follow roughly the same route as the larger highways but there are no tolls and like state highways in the US they run right through the center of towns. It makes it easier to stop and see sites along the way. It will take longer but I live it myself. To find the secondary roads check the signs. The larger highways with tolls will be in blue but you will usually see a second sign showing the same destinations in green. Follow the green signs. The French road system and signage are good. Good Luck and Bon Route!
