Driving from Nazare to Duoro River

Jump to last reply

A bit of info - we have rented a car, have 3 weeks, in October, before we need to return to Lisbon, prefer to stay in smaller towns, love scenic drives, sea food, hiking, markets and beautiful sights. That being said I have a few (well quite a few) questions in regards to driving north from Nazarre;
- is it possible to remain on secondary highways, following the coast, with the exception of the short distance to Figueira da Foz, via IC7, along the way to Espinho. By the map I have it looks as though we could follow N242, N109,N327 -although, how is the road through Sao Pedro de Moel to Pedrogao and on
- how many driving hours will it take to go from Nazarre to Espinho via the N routes?
- along the coast route is there a 'must visit' area
- is there a especially great place to kayak? I am thinking around Aveiro
- considering we are heading to Douro River - N10, N122 would you suggest to stay in Aveiro on the west end....we have no desire to visit Porto, and then where on the east end. We will be heading towards Zamora, Spain from here
