Driving from Bayeux to Beaune

My husband and I are planning a trip
to France. We definitely want to see
the Normandy region as well as the
Burgundy region. We will be renting a car
and would like to leave Bayeux and
drive to Beaune for our last 3 days. Is
this a feasible drive? I have checked the
Michelin guide, however, I would like to
hear from someone who has made this trip. Thanks

Hello, Michele. I have not driven this exact route but I did drive a fairly similar one, in reverse, from the southern Vosges (near Alsace) to Lisieux. If you stick to the autoroutes, they will take you very close to Paris. Since I wanted to avoid that, we took a more southerly route and used some N roads. It took pretty much an entire day - I think about 8 hrs, including a couple of rest stops and a stop for lunch. It was a very long day. If you don't mind the maze of autoroutes nearer to Paris, you might be able to do it in 5-6 hours, especially since your last couple of hours would be easy driving on the A6. My advice would be to leave as early as you can. Good luck!
