Driving: Cernobbio to Ortesei - Venice

Jump to last reply

My family of 5 will be departing Cernobbio on July 24 and would like to spend 3 nights in the Dolomites. We have small children so light hiking, gondola rides and easy excursions are paramount.

After our stay in the Dolomites region, we would then like to drive to a train station and take a train into Venice ( preferably a direct train/non stop). I'm new to this so need some sage advice from all you Dolomite experts please... my questions:

1. Given we have only 3 days - where should we stay? I'm open to suggestions but we are now leaning towards Ortesei.

2. How long of a drive is it and could you suggest a fun place for us to stop midway for either hiking, lunch etc.

3. Please advise of any train start ions with a direct train to Venice and the the distance in driving time to get there from Ortesei or ? region in the Dolomites.

THANK YOU Very very much.

Calla
