Hi, I am planning to stay at Dresden for 3-4 days by the end of Oct, and would like to visit Seiffen. I am not driving and don't speak german. Can someone advise how can I go to Seiffen from Dresden? Is there any tour I can join? Thanks!

Hi there,
I dont think that there is an organized tour. But there should be no problem to get a train ticket without speaking German.
Perhaps You find more at
http://www.seiffen.de
They dont have an english page, but maybe You send them an email.
keep bringing this subject to the top until ingo answers you.....he would be the expert on this...he may be away at the moment
Thanks all for your advice, have sent an e-mail to www.seiffen.de, hopefully can have some info. soon.
Back at home now
niki, public transportation is too inconvenient and tours are rare at this time of year.
You'd better ask the Dresden Tourist Office http://www.dresden-tourist.de/
Sorry, but end of Oct is not a popular time to go to Seiffen as a daytrip for us locals.
Ingo
Thanks, Ingo. I will ask the Dresden Tourist Office.
Niki, I once planned a trip from Berlin to Seiffen via train. I remember that it was to involve about 2-3 train changes and was not a fast trip for the distance traveled. Being that Dreseden is closer to Seiffen, it might be a little easier. I took a look at the DB train website, and it is no better from Dreseden. IT would involve 2 buses and 2 trains for a travel time of 3.5 hours. I hope you try take a look at the website and try some other options to maybe make it a little easier. Seiffen is a great little town. www.banh.de
