Douro Valley 3 nights

Jump to last reply

I'm planning on spending 3 days in the Douro Valley and am wondering if it's better to stay there or spend a few days in Porto with a day trip to the valley. My mom and I are very interested in exploring the vineyards (tasting and all) so would hope to hire a driver if we did the days in the valley. We will be renting a car, but do not want to drive much while there (more room for wine). Where would you recommend we stay? Is 3 days too much for the area?
We'll also be seeing Lisbon and the Algarve for the remainder of our trip.
