Yes ( and I normally hate AC).
Les Glycines is a lovely hotel in Les Eyzies (which btw will be quite horridly overrun with tourists in August, making it practically impossible to get through the three blocks of town in under 45 minutes). It has an excellent dining room and is very prettily appointed. I don't know if it has ac or not, but you'll definitely want ac in the Dordogne in August unless the weather is unusually cool. Even then, you'll want it because ín all likelihood Les Glycines doesn't have screens on the windows, and the mosquitoes can be bad in August, so you wouldn't want to leave the windows open at night. Problem is, hotels with ac are hard to find in the Dordogne. Le Centenaire has it, but that's very pricey (and also smack in the center of Les Eyzies). You might check out l'Esplanade in Domme. Domme has its own traffic problems in high season, but l'Esplanade is a gem of a hotel (and the restaurant is incredible), and the setting is incomparable.
stcirq,
i will be staying at Les Glycines from sept.6 to 10. Would you recommend side trips and resturants. We wil have a car,
thank you Mort
