Donegal :Great Atlantic Way & more

Jump to last reply

I am senior, will travel by Buseireann and trying to plan for several day trips. Have been to some towns in Donegal and one time enjoyed a day tour and lovely sightseeing which I think we joined in Ballyshannon. I would like to take the bus trip on Buseireann along some of the Great Atlantic Way.
Might like to visit Glenveagh National Park as I enjoy hiking trails and photography. There few hotels with availability in Donegal town end of August.

Would I be better off staying in Letterkenny on arrival or just spending several hours there to enjoy Glenveagh and if there is evening transportation back to Donegal town join Great Atlantic day tour next morning?? After Donegal town need to start my journey back towards Dublin (with overnight stop) before heading to airport. Can I do this with ease over 3 nights. If most hotels are sold out I might try to plan Donegal stops early in week and visit Cavan stops at weekend.
Thanks for any help out here.
