Dolomites Ortisei or Selva for three days walking and eating?

Hi all
We are four friends with 3 nights to stay in the Dolomites and have narrowed it down to Ortisei or Selva in Val Di Gardena for good day walks and views as well as great food. We want to do day/half day walks and we enjoy the Tyrollean food.
Any suggestions of which locations are best and places to stay would be wonderful.
We are going to be there in early June between our Lake Como and Venice stays.
Thanks
Rosie.

We stayed I. Ortisei and loved it!! Selva is quite a bit smaller I believe. You can get details in our trip report here, including photos.

You may want to check when the lifts open - some might not be open in early June...

Hi Rosie - I often return to Ortisei and - like Jamikins - I love it
http://tinyurl.com/po4glku

I'm pretty sure the Alpe di Siusi lift from the village is open in early June - so that gives you easy access to the Alpe di Siusi for hiking.

The tourist office website for all you need on this area is -
www.valgardena.it

If you're looking for B&B's in Ortisei try -
www.hotelvillapark.com
www.hotelcosmea.it

I've been delighted with both ...

Hope this helps ...

I definitely suggest to go to Ortisei, it's wonderful.

There is a great restaurant where you can eat authentic Tyrollean food, it's called Tubladel

check it out: http://www.tripadvisor.it/Restaurant...lto_Adige.html
