Doge's Palace - Secret Itineraries

I have been calling the following number to reserve the Secret Itineraries tour in Doge's Palace in Venice

"
Secret Itineraries tour of Doge’s palace Phone number is 011 39 041 520 9070. English-speaking operator.

"

It was posted by several fodorites but I keep getting a message in Italian and then finally get disconnected.

Can anyone help?

http://www.tickitaly.com/galleries/d...enice-tour.php

I booked my tour through the above link - no phone, no people, no language problems, immediate confirmation.

Give it a try. Check out the website, other museums and galleries are available.

regards Ger

What time of day did you try calling? You'll have to remember the time difference.

When I called last year, I got through immediately.

You can also book tickets online directly at:
http://www.museiciviciveneziani.it/f...&sezione=musei

Click "info" in the R lower corner, then you'll see a link for online tickets.

The website provided by Ger (OReilly) is a ticket agent, hence charges more than what you'd pay by dealing with the Doges Palace directly.

Hi SS,

Try calling between 08:30 - 12:00 and 14:00 - 16:30 Venice time on weekdays.

Hi everyone,
I tried calling at the times that Ira mentioned but unfortunately get this recorded message.

Should I just rely on my hotel concierge?

I called last week and had the same problem. I was put on hold and after waiting several minutes there was a message in Italian and then I was disconnected. I just kept trying and it probably took seven calls before i got my reservation.

Hi sleepless,

If you're still having trouble, you may want to try asking your hotel to book for you. We did that, and it was a snap.

I have just checked the site I used to book my tour in August and it still has places available for 24th September onwards. It also tells you how many places are still available for each time slot.

http://www.teleart.org/itinerarisegr...tdate=20060801

When you click on your preferred date and time, a pop-up window displays and you can click BOOK.

Another window then displays for you to select how many tickets you require at 16 Euros for adults and 10 Euros for discounted tickets. Note that you must make a separate booking for each ticket type you require.

Just out of interest, the different ticket types are:

1. Children under the age of six pay nothing - neither do they have to reserve as such - please do specifiy the number of children in your group that are under this age, however.

2. European students aged between 14 and 29 or EU citizens aged between 6 to 14 or over the age of 65 qualify for a reduced price ticket - this ticket allows full entrance, without restriction. Proof of ID (usually a passport) will be required.

3. Full priced tickets are for all non European citizens as well as European citizens not covered in point 2, above.
