Does everyone on the same airline reservation # need to check in at the same time?

We are flying with my parents to Germany on Friday. We are all on the same reservation #. Do we all need to check in at the same time together, or can some arrive earlier and check in, while others arrive later?

I think this probably depends on the airline. I have found when doing this in the past though, that we could check in individually AT the airport, but if checked in online, it checked everyone in.

I know on NWA we can even check in online separately. There are boxes to check next to each name.

You definitely can check in separately in person.
